Learn More About Our School District

Snowflake Unified School District #5, formally the Snowflake Union High School District, was created in 1924. Our own Snowflake High School was actually founded clear back in 1888 to provide, to all local residents who cared to attend, an education beyond the 8th grade.

Today, we boast an elementary school, a primary school, two intermediate schools, a junior high school, and a high school. In all, our district serves more than 2,500 students (K through 12) in the Snowflake and Taylor areas.

Excellence in Education

It is our solemn promise to provide a quality education to every student within our walls. We believe all children can learn, and we are proud of our comprehensive programs that help meet their needs.

SUSD students consistently score above the rest of Arizona students on Arizona’s Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) test. AIMS is a standards-based test, which means that it measures how well students have mastered Arizona's learning standards in mathematics, reading, writing, and science. Students must pass the grade 10 AIMS in order to graduate. The goal is for all students to meet or exceed state standards on the test.
